The North Dakota State Electrical Board has the responsibility to examine applicants and issue licenses to those having the necessary qualifications and knowledge in the laws of electricity and electrical codes. The board also has jurisdiction over all electrical installations. This assures that inspections are done efficiently and timely and meet minimum standards of national and state codes as well as provide customer service and satisfaction.  

 

NDSEB SYSTEM TRANSITION

 

January/February 2027

The Board is replacing its online licensing, registration and wiring certificate system. Please note the following dates:

 

Friday, January 29, 2027, 5:00 PM CST

The current system will be shut down. No renewals, wiring certificates or conveyance permits can be filed online afte this time.

 

Wednesday, February 3, 2027

The new NDSEB online system (powered by iMS) goes live. Beginning on this date you can once again file wiring certificates and conveyance permits, and renewals will reopen.

 

Renewals are being postponed.

If your license (electrical, PLE or conveyance) or apprentice registration is due for renewal during this transition, please wiat and renew in the new system after Februaury 3, 2027. 

Current licenses and registrations will remain valid during this period and no late fees will be assessed.

 

Everyone will need a new login.

Beginning February 3, 2027, all licensees and registrants will create a personal sign-in profile in the new system, and contractors will also create a business profile.

Step-by-Step instructioins will be send before go-live.

Please make sure the Board has a current email address for you now, as that is how you will receive instructions and verify your account.
