Education Advisory Committee

Purpose and Function

  • The board shall form an education advisory committee to review educational classes and programs required by the board.
  • The committee shall develop minimum requirements in the area of study for electrical education of licensed individuals.
  • The committee shall review approved classes and programs every five years or as necessary and submit a report to the board.
  • The executive director shall preside over committee meetings.
  • The committee shall meet as needed, but at least once per year.

The education advisory committee may include individuals from the following categories:

  • Executive director
  • Training administrator
  • Representative from a North Dakota college-approved electrical degree program
  • Representative from an approved online/off-campus electrical program
  • Registered professional electrical engineer
  • Master electrician (certified instructor)
  • Journeyman electrician (certified instructor)
  • Power limited electrician (certified instructor)
  • Apprenticeship training program representative

  • James Schmidt - Executive Director

  • Zach Sheeley - On Campus Representative

  • Robert Zachariason - On Campus Representative

  • Nicole Lehn - Off Campus Representative

  • W. Brian Poykko - ND Professional Engineer
